Resumen:
Carlos Araya and his wife Silvia Chaves ran a cleaning services company in San Ramón, Costa Rica. The company employed approximately 400 persons who were contracted to carry out cleaning services nation-wide. Due to concern for the health and environmental effects of the chemicals being utilized in their cleaning products, an sought environmentally friendly "green" products. Faced with a dearth of options and un-interested local manufacturers, they set out to create their own brand of biodegradable cleaners and launched the Florex in 2008. Florex products were first marketed to institutions, companies and government agencies. However, in order to fulfill the company vision to be an agent of change through innovation in environmentally friendly cleaning products, they would need to take their cleaning products to a wider market - households. The leadership is immediately faced with the challenge of selling the concept of "greener cleaners" to consumers and middle - men alike.
